The new NPDC Public Engagement Committee has their first meeting on 4th Februray. Requests to speak close on Sunday 25th January.
One of the new Committee’s with the new team of elected officials at the NPDC is the Public Engagement Committee.
- If you have any burning issues you want to talk about, requests to speak at the very first meeting on 4th February close on Sunday 25 January.
These meetings are designed to have more user friendly times for people who work – 5.30pm start times.
Why have this Committee ?
The purpose of the new committee is to give people the opportunity to speak directly with Councillors about the issues that matter most to you. The new forum has been created to encourage open, meaningful conversations and constructive engagement between the community and elected members.
Anything you want to raise in a meeting must be a Council related matter.
Councillors are looking for you to bring your ideas, suggestions and things of concern to the meetings, where you can speak more openly, with more flexible time to speak, and more of an opportunity for questions.
Many of the new Councillors ran for Council as they want to solve issues and listen to the Community. This is your chance to be heard directly, by the people you voted for.
The committee won’t be able to make decisions or direct council actions, but this forum will provide valuable feedback to the Councillors and Council.
