It’s a first, New Plymouth Ratepayers are invited to an NPDC Climate Change presentation and question session. Whether you agree or disagree, you can ask questions and have a say.
Climate Change plans with the NPDC are open for consultation and Alliance supporters have been invited to a presentation by the Climate Change team to go through their plans, and ask questions.
This is a first for Ratepayers. We have been asking to be part of the Stakeholder process, and we appreciate the offer to be included.
We suspect there may be a collective groan from Ratepayers already under the pump with costs of Council rates, that Climate Change costs are still in the mix with the rates – but – Central Government still requires Local Councils to prepare climate change plans.
Two of the Coalition partners in Central Government do not want to continue with the Paris Agreement, but while NZ is still signed up for that agreement, then the Local Councils have to have plans and Ratepayers have to carry the costs.
If you want to know more about what is planned by the NPDC, and want to ask questions about the detail of the plans, then come along to this presentation.
