An NPDC Climate Change Consultation is open for you to have your say. It's a first for the NPDC to let us know about this before it closes.

An NPDC Climate Change Consultation is open for you to have your say. All questions have an open text box, so you can write what you would like to. This closes on Tuesday 15th September.

We know we have supporters who believe in climate change, and supporters who don’t believe in Climate Change. For the first time for our group, the NPDC have been in touch to let us know feedback is being gathered, and they have also put on a presentation for our group to ask questions and find out more.

We also just need to remind everyone, the current central government require, by law, that councils must have a climate change plan, so the NPDC has to produce this plan.

The online consultation has just 4 questions – all with open text boxes – so you can say what you want to – no swearing – or they will discard your submission. That link is here:

  • We have attached a few pages from the full action plan document which has summaries of some of the detail in the full plan. There is a prioritised bullet point list of actions they plan to take. This is a quick background read for comments you may like to make.

You can print and write on a document if you prefer, and drop that off at the Council Building. There is a 4 page summary – before the 5 questions are asked - at this link :

The full action plan, 64 pages, is at this link:

  • The NPDC does have to have a plan, but you have the opportunity with this consultation to write your thoughts on this topic. Just fill in one box with a few comments if that’s all you want to say.
  • There has been a history of NOT asking ratepayers their views with these plans, so please take full advantage of the chance to have a say, if you want to.

And please share this with other people you think may be interested.

The consultation closes at midnight on Tuesday 15th September.
