Just an update - Gareth Green will be in an interim CEO role at Tauranga City Council until March 2027
Our last update on Gareth Green was from a 1 news story. This is from the Tauranga City Council Website after their Council meeting about the replacement of the previous CEO Marty Grenfell.
Gareth Green was the Acting CEO for Tauranga from 2nd to 26th October. He is now the Interim CEO until March 2027.
He will be overseeing the development of the next Long Term Plan (LTP) for Tauranga. This is the document that gives the council permission to spend ratepayers’ money. The people of Tauranga are about to experience a leader who oversaw the enormous increase in spending and debt in the last LTP in New Plymouth.
An Independent recruitment company will be appointed for the replacement for the permanent CEO position.

B, we hope they do some detailed reference checking, from New Plymouth and Taupo.
